Guyer (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran outfielder was initially tabbed to miss 4-to-6 weeks due to this wrist injury, and beginning a rehab assignment Friday means he still can return within that timeframe. No word has been revealed as to how long Guyer will remain with the Clippers, although the Indians may opt to keep him on the assignment a bit longer than usual since there currently is not a roster spot open for him in Cleveland. Austin Jackson and Daniel Robertson are currently filling the outfield platoon roles, so Guyer certainly isn't guaranteed a spot in the big leagues once he's ready to return since both Jackson and Robertson have been serviceable bench bats for the Tribe.
