Guyer, who is slated to open the season in a right-field platoon with Lonnie Chisenhall, will take reps in center and left field this spring, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer's best chance to start on Opening Day is actually in left field, and that would only happen if Michael Brantley (shoulder) isn't ready to go. Outside of that, Guyer will compete with Chisenhall, Tyler Naquin and Abraham Almonte for playing time, the latter two of which will start the season in a center-field platoon. None of the Indians' outfielders are locked into full-time role at this point, meaning Guyer will have more than a fair chance to surpass his career high of 332 at-bats (with Tampa Bay in 2015) if he can separate himself from the field.
