Grossman (thumb) will begin a two-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester on Saturday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The plan is for him to join Minnesota in Tampa Bay on Tuesday. According to Berardino, the switch-hitting Grossman can only hit from the left side of the plate at this stage in his rehab, and he is unable to throw. Of course, as primarily a DH, he will not be asked to throw when he returns to the majors.
