Grossman is out of the lineup Sunday against the Indians, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Grossman has maintained an impressive .400 on-base percentage over 100 plate appearances this season, but that hasn't been enough for him to hold down an everyday role with Kennys Vargas thriving since being promoted from Triple-A Rochester on April 23. Vargas has only gotten on base at a .280 clip, but with five extra-base hits -- including four homers -- in 50 plate appearances, he actually owns a higher OPS than Grossman, who hasn't displayed much pop. So long as Vargas curbs his strikeouts often enough to tap into his prodigious power, it looks like he'll enjoy the favorable end of a timeshare Grossman.
