Gregerson's struggles this week in two outings against the Rangers was the result of wavering command, per manager A.J. Hinch, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports. The Astros' setup man allowed five runs on five hits, including two home runs, over his last two appearances.

Hinch sounded confident when talking about Gregerson's struggles, telling reporters that the reliever will bounce back and give the Astros the type of work the manager expects out of him. Until Gregerson fixes his command issues, he may not be called upon for high-leverage situations, such as a save opportunity. That was the case Friday night when closer Ken Giles spectacularly blew a save in the ninth inning. After the Astros pushed a run across the plate in the top of the 10th innings, instead of Gregerson getting an opportunity to close out the game, Hinch chose Chris Devenski.
