Gregerson (2-2) allowed two runs on two hits while striking out one over one inning in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Gregerson, Houston's embattled reliever and former setup man, entered a tied game in the eighth inning on the heels of six straight scoreless appearances. That string of performances, which dropped his ERA to 4.68 after it had been as high as 8.69 this season, imbued manager A.J. Hinch with the confidence to give Gregerson another shot at a high-leverage appearance. And the right-hander appeared to be on his way to a clean inning after making quick work of the first two batters, but a Jonathan Lucroy single followed by Rougned Odor's two-run home run put another blemish on Gregerson's game log. The homer was the sixth one he's allowed in 26 innings, leaving him at a career-worst 2.1 HR/9.
