Gregerson (2-1) was unable to hold a lead in the eighth inning Thursday, allowing a run on one hit and two walks in Houston's 7-6 win over Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Gregerson managed to eke out the win when the Astros plated the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth, but it was not an encouraging performance from the once-reliable setup man. Manager A.J. Hinch assiduously avoided using Gregerson in high-leverage situations over the past few weeks following a two-game flameout in early May, but the manager reversed the pattern Thursday, using Will Harris in the seventh. Gregerson has allowed seven runs, nine hits, three home runs and three walks over his last 7.1 innings.
