Gosewisch was named the Diamondbacks starting catcher Monday, according to the Arizona Republic. D-backs general manager Dave Stewart didn't give a ringing endorsement of the decision saying, "I don't know which other way we could go." His bat has never been the strong part of his game, but he has shown a bit of success during spring training. Gosewisch is hitting .286/.300/.286 with three RBI in 11 games. Where Gosewisch really adds value is with his defensive skills behind the plate. That's great for the D-backs and their pitchers, but not so much for fantasy owners.
