Gordon's absence from the lineup Friday night against the Giants was due to a sore muscle in his right leg, but GM Dan Jennings told the Miami Herald that the day off was "just precautionary... making sure it doesn't lead into anything more significant." The team has every reason to play it safe with their leadoff hitter who is off to a blistering .437/.461/.521 start at the dish with 12 steals through 28 games. It sounds like Gordon has a chance to return to the lineup at some point this weekend, but owners will need to keep an eye on the lineup card ahead of Saturday's game. Donovan Solano filled in at second base Friday with a returning Christian Yelich taking over the leadoff spot.
