Gonzalez will follow Max Scherzer in the Nationals' rotation to begin the season, pitching the Nationals' second game, The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stephen Strasburg will take the third turn, while Tanner Roark and Joe Ross will round out the rotation. Nats manager Dusty Baker says that Gonzalez's inability to go deep into games on a consistent basis led him to the decision, so that the bullpen will usually be fresher for Gonzalez after a Scherzer start. From a fantasy perspective this doesn't change Gonzalez's outlook much, although stronger bullpen support could save him a couple of earned runs and maybe get him an extra win or two over the course of the year.
