Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in his return to the lineup Friday against the Giants. Gonzalez was left on the bench for Thursday's series finale against the Padres after going hitless in the first three games of the series, but responded well upon slotting back in Friday. The outfielder is batting a woeful .197/.231/.328 so far this season, but on a fortunate note, he seems to have at least put the knee issues that marred his 2014 campaign behind him. While it seems dubious that Gonzalez will reclaim the star status he enjoyed in previous seasons, if health permits, there's reason to expect him to eventually come out of the extended slump.
