Gonzalez went 2-for-4 in a losing effort against the Marlins on Friday night. The overall production remains disappointing for Gonzalez, who has been healthy enough to play 49 games for the Rockies this season. Since the start of a series against the Dodgers on May 14, Gonzalez is hitting .293/.391/.400 (.791 OPS) with two homers, seven RBI, and two steals over the last 20 games. That production would translate to 17 homers and 17 steals over a full 162-game slate, so he appears to be trending in the right direction with his recent performance. Thus far, the lack of power output can be directly linked to a career-high 51.4% groundball rate (career 45.2%) and the lowest hard-hit ball rate (28.4%) since his 2008 campaign with the A's (27.0%).
