A bout of right hamstring discomfort forced Gonzalez from Wednesday's game and he told Julia Morales of Root Sports that he won't be available in any capacity for the series opener against Texas. Gonzalez is coming off a poor .235/.270/.341 month of August but A.J. Reed hasn't been any better, so it seems likely Gonzalez will continue seeing fairly regular time once healthy.
