Gonzalez has been out of action since late May due to dead arm. He posted a 3.19 ERA in six starts prior to the injury. Burch Smith was optioned in a corresponding move. Gonzalez may not be asked to pitch too deep into Saturday's contest, as he threw just 68 pitches in his most recent rehab start for Triple-A San Antonio on Monday.
