Gonzalez allowed four earned runs on nine hits and three walks in a loss to the Braves Friday. He struck out five in a no-decision.
EDGE Analysis
It was a tough outing for the southpaw, who saw his ERA rise to 2.86 after the contest. He gave up two more longballs in this one, raising his career-high HR/9 to an unimpressive 1.59 on the season. Backed by a potent Nationals lineup, he should continue to receive considerable run support, but a deeper look at his peripherals (5.24 FIP) suggest that starts like Friday's could become more of the norm than the exception.
