Gonzalez (6-8) took the loss Tuesday, giving up four runs on six hits while walking two and striking out six in six innings against the visiting Mets.
With losses in four of his last five starts, Gonzalez hasn't seen the win column in a month (July 5), and two of those outings have been less than four innings. Luckily for the Nats, they boast one of the better rotations in baseball, with Gonzalez slotting in fourth behind a trio of proven starters in Stephen Strasburg, Jordan Zimmermann and Doug Fister. With that being said, Washington will need the 28-year-old to tighten things up if they hope to stave off the Braves for the NL East lead, a team he'll square off against in his next start Sunday.
