Gonzalez (3-1) allowed six runs on seven hits and four walks across six innings in Monday's loss to the Orioles. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez ran into an early barrage in this one, allowing four runs via a trio of home runs in the first inning. He kept his pitch count in a reasonable range and was able to soldier through six frames, but the two runs he allowed in the fourth proved to be decisive in the end. This was Gonzalez's first outing with more than two runs allowed this season, but he has allowed a home run in five of his seven turns and carries a hefty 4.5 BB/9, which could hint at some trouble down the road. Still, he has a 2.61 ERA at this time and will look to bounce back Saturday against the Phillies.
