Giolito (0-1) allowed four runs on six hits, including two home runs, and two walks while striking out two over five innings Sunday in a loss to the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Nolan Arenado and David Dahl both took Giolito deep as the 22-year-old continues to find the leap up to the big leagues a difficult one. He threw just 10 first-pitch strikes out of 23 batters faced and managed only eight swinging strikes on 100 pitches despite his mouth-watering raw stuff. Giolito still has as much upside as any young pitcher in baseball, but he doesn't seem quite ready to make an impact.
