Gio Gonzalez is nursing soreness in his right (non-throwing) hand. Gonzalez injured himself when he made an awkward slide into third base last week. As a precaution, the Nationals instructed him not to swing the bat during his start Friday. It didn't affect his pitching, though, and it should be a non-issue going forward.
