Gibson gave up one run over two innings with two strikeouts in Thursday's spring training debut. He worked on a new pitch: a changeup to right-handed hitters, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. "That's something I've been working on," Gibson said. "Threw a few more curveballs than normal. That's what spring training is for. Throwing those changeups to righties is something you'll probably be seeing me do a lot in spring training." Gibson's first full season in the majors was an uneven affair as he had a 1.42 ERA in his 13 wins, but a 11.04 ERA in his 12 losses. Gibson's poor strikeout rate (4.9 K/9 IP) limits his upside, but he could improve in his second season and figuring out another pitch to add to his arsenal could help.
