Gibson allowed just two runs with four strikeouts and two walks across seven innings in Sunday's start against the Angels. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
After failing to make it out of the sixth inning in either of his first two outings, Gibson hung on to deliver his first quality start of 2016. He also posted season-lows in walks and hits allowed, as his only real blemish came on a two-run dinger by Albert Pujols in the first inning. A relatively thin pitching staff will require solid outings such as this from Gibson this season, and he will look to deliver versus Washington Friday in his next start.
