Gibson (0-1) put a dozen men on base -- seven hits and five walks -- in five innings Wednesday, ultimately allowing four runs in a loss to the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Frankly, he's fortunate to have avoided more damage, as Gibson was unable to work a single clean inning, but escaped without allowing any of Baltimore's rallies to turn into crooked numbers on the scoreboard. Even so, there's no positive way to spin this outing, which is a disappointing start to the regular season after a strong spring. Gibson's tendencies to put men on base and pitch to contact make him a low-end fantasy starter.
