Giants purchased the contract of OF Roger Kieschnick from Double-A Richmond. He is now protected from the upcoming Rule 5 Draft. Kieschnick, who turns 25 in January, batted .255/.307/.429 with 16 homers, 65 RBI, 13 stolen bases and a .737 OPS over 501 plate appearances this season at the Double-A level. The 2008 third-round pick has good pop from the left side, but his plate discipline continues to be an issue.
