Giants purchased the contract of Dan Uggla from Triple-A Fresno. Uggla, who was signed to a minor league contract on Monday, will now be given an opportunity to see regular work at second base for the Giants with Marco Scutaro and Ehire Adrianza on the shelf. He's batting seventh in his Giants debut on Friday, and could carve out value in NL-only formats if he can find his power stroke.
