Giants placed LHP Jeremy Affeldt on the 15-day disabled list with a strained medial collateral ligament in his right knee. Affeldt was slowed by a groin injury to start camp and sustained the MCL sprain just days before the team broke camp. He'll miss another week to 10 days, but the Giants are hoping to have the reliever back by mid-April.
