Giants manager Bruce Bochy said that Jeremy Affeldt will handle most of the eighth inning duties while Santiago Casilla (knee) is sidelined. Casilla will undergo surgery on his knee Tuesday and is expected to be sidelined until around the All-Star break, so the Giants will have to make due without him for a while. Affeldt, who turns 34 in June, owns 2.35 ERA and 9/8 K/BB ratio in 15 1/3 innings this season. Chad Gaudin and Jean Machi, both right-handers, should also see work in the seventh and eighth innings.
