Giants avoided arbitration with OF Hunter Pence by agreeing to a one-year, $13.8 million contract.

It's a nice raise from last year's $10.4 million salary given that Pence batted just .219/.287/.384 with seven home runs in 248 plate appearances for the Giants and posted a career-worst .743 OPS overall. Pence's numbers in 2013 will probably be down relative to his career totals since he'll play in a pitcher's park over a full season for the first time. But, he's been very durable and, for the most part, consistent during his career, so he should be a solid fantasy contributor again.
