Giancarlo Stanton blasted a solo homer and reached base in all four of his plate appearances, leading the Marlins to a 2-0 victory over the Pirates on Friday. Stanton finished the night 2-for-2 and also walked twice. His solo homer off Jeff Locke in the seventh inning increased the Marlins lead to 2-0 and would prove to be more than enough of a cushion for Henderson Alvarez and the Marlins bullpen. He's now hitting .247/.360/.470 with 12 homers and 31 RBI in 59 games this season.
