Manager Aaron Boone noted after Tuesday's win that Judge has been managing some lower-body soreness of late and would likely need a day off, so the star outfielder's absence from the lineup a day later shouldn't come as a major surprise. The Yankees will presumably check back in with Judge early Thursday to see how he's feeling before deciding whether he'll be ready to rejoin the lineup for the series finale that afternoon. Per Erik Boland of Newsday, Boone noted that Judge would still be available off the bench Wednesday if there was "a big enough spot" for him to make an appearance as a pinch hitter.
