Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times reports that the full $1 million of Jason Bay's base salary with the Mariners is not guaranteed. Bay will be guaranteed $500,000 if he doesn't make the club out of spring training. The 34-year-old outfielder posted a measly .647 OPS over three seasons with the Mets, but the Mariners are hopeful that the change of scenery will do him well.
