With the Orioles placing Joey Rickard (finger) on the 10-day disabled list earlier Sunday, Gentry looks primed to see regular at-bats and lead off against left-handed starters for at least the next week and a half while working as a platoon partner for either Hyun-Soo Kim or Seth Smith. The 33-year-old has shown little power over the course of his career, but has been active on the basepaths in the past. He might make for a decent short-term roster add in AL-only formats.
