Gentry spent the majority of the season in the minors, but did see time in the majors as a September call-up en route to slashing just .120/.196/.200 in 26 games with the big league team. The 31-year-old had established himself as a reliable major league option in the past, but he struggled to find his form in 2015 and will likely have to earn an Opening Day roster spot in spring training.
