Gentry (hand) has progressed to hitting off a tee, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. There was some hope Gentry would miss as little as two weeks after suffering a non-displaced fracture in his hand last month, but he has already missed more than two weeks and just received clearance to resume swinging. Gentry will have to gradually increase his activity from here, though it looks like he should still be able to get into rehab games before the minor league season ends.
