General manager Rick Hahn credited Davidson's stats this spring to a simplification of his swing, and he was in contention for one of the team's final roster spots, the Daily Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davidson had one of the best spring lines of any of the White Sox batters -- .381/.409/.714 with four home runs in 44 plate appearances. Still, there was no place for him to get everyday at-bats at the major league level. Additionally, he will need to prove he can put up similar numbers consistently at Triple-A Charlotte, where he has led the International League in strikeouts the past two years. Still, his name should come up if there is an in-season injury to a corner infielder.
