Gavin Floyd gave up four runs -- three earned -- on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings in a loss against the Giants on Monday. Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez may have made a mistake in sending Floyd out for the seventh inning in a 1-1 game. Three runs later and the game was over. Gonzalez elected to keep Floyd in the rotation in lieu of going to a six-man operation, and it's obvious that the right-hander will be asked to earn his keep going forward. So far, so good. In two starts since his return from Tommy John surgery, Floyd (2.70 ERA) has allowed only four earned runs total. The veteran takes on the Cardinals on Sunday.
