Gattis, playing catcher for the first time in 2016, went 2-for-3 with a solo homer off White Sox ace Chris Sale in Thursday's 2-1 loss.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately (from a team standpoint), he accounted for half the Astros' baserunners and all their runs with those two hits. Nonetheless, it's impressive to see Gattis do this well against such a great pitcher one day after striking out four times. The glass-half-full view holds that he's got five hits, including two homers, in the last three games; the glass-half-empty view reminds us that he's still hitting only .237 (which is not far off his ceiling) with just three homers in 23 games. That said, logic tells us the power will come around, and that'll certainly play at the catcher position if or when he gains eligibility.
