Upon Gattis' diagnosis of a kidney stone, the team expressed confidence that he would return in a matter of days, but the 28-year-old remains unavailable to start close to a week later. Gattis has, however, pinch hit two of the last three days, suggesting his return to the lineup may be imminent, but the team has no incentive to rush him back with any hope of a Wild Card birth dashed.
