Gant was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Joel De La Cruz was brought up to replace Gant on Friday, providing Atlanta with a fresh arm, but Gant figures to get another opportunity before too long.
