Freeman was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Freeman joined the big-league club in early May to help provide some infield depth, but has struggled mightily at the plate to the tune of a .067/.176/.167 slash line through his first 34 plate appearances. He'll return to Tacoma while first baseman Dan Vogelbach will be recalled to take his place.
