Freddy Sanchez threw to first base Wednesday for the first time since undergoing surgery in August to repair the torn labrum in his right shoulder. Sanchez also ran the bases and fielded grounders. His back flared up earlier this week, but the status of his surgically-repaired shoulder is the bigger concern. As of now, the 34-year-old second baseman expects to be ready for Opening Day.
