Freddy Sanchez (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A San Jose Monday. He won't play the field yet but hopes to do so by the middle of the week. Sanchez had been slated to start his rehab last week, but it was pushed back because he still had some soreness in his surgically-repaired right shoulder. The Giants are hoping he'll be ready to join them in early May, but it's still uncertain as to whether Sanchez will be able to throw well enough to handle second base defensively.
