Freddy Sanchez (shoulder) still hopes to make it back this season. The assumption was that Sanchez would miss the rest of the season following back surgery in July, but he's currently working out at the Giants' complex in Scottsdale and will soon begin playing in instructional league games. While Giants head athletic trainer Dave Groeschner calls it a "highly unlikely" scenario, the 34-year-old hopes to be an option off the bench down the stretch.
