Freddy Sanchez (shoulder) played seven innings at third base in an extended spring training game Wednesday. Giants manager Bruce Bochy said it's easier on Sanchez's surgically-repaired shoulder to throw from third base as opposed to second, so the team will evaluate his ability to play there going forward. We doubt this means that they've given up on him playing second, but at this point they're just trying to get him back as soon as possible. He could potentially see some starts at the hot corner if he beats Pablo Sandoval (hand) back from the DL.
