FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reports that the Giants are "not optimistic" about trading Aaron Rowand prior to September 1. He would have to land somewhere before the end of Wednesday in order to be eligible for that team's postseason roster. It's no surprise, as Rowand is due what's left of his $13 million salary for this season, as well as another $12 million next year. He can still be a useful bench player and will likely be scooped up by someone after the Giants likely release him.
