FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports that the Mariners are close to an agreement with free agent catcher John Buck. Buck, 33, batted .219/.285/.367 with 15 home runs and 62 RBI over 110 games last season between the Mets and Pirates. He would function as a backup to young Mike Zunino.
