Fraley swiped his fourth base of spring training in Thursday's loss to the White Sox, tying him for the overall spring training lead. Reds manager David Bell suggested that the Reds generally might run more this season, Jesse Borek of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Reds stole only 36 bases last season, which was less of a preference by Bell but instead a reflection of the active roster. Fraley and Tommy Pham both project to run more, as would Nick Senzel if he can stay healthy. "Hopefully, my style as a manager is to maximize the team that we have, not to try to control the style in my own personal way," Bell said. "It's based on our roster, what our strengths are. If our team is faster and we have guys that have a knack to steal bases -- which I do believe we'll have more of -- then for sure [we'll attempt more steals]."
