Fiers will rejoin the rotation and start Tuesday against the Twins, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Astros announced earlier in the weekend that Fiers would serve in a relief role moving forward after Brad Peacock impressed in his spot start May 22 against the Tigers, but there will be room in the rotation for both pitchers after Charlie Morton (lat) was surprisingly placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday. Even with injuries to Morton and Collin McHugh (elbow) thinning the Astros' starting pitching depth, Fiers won't be guaranteed to stick around in a rotation role even if Morton is forced to miss more than the minimum amount of time. Fiers has been dreadful in his nine starts this season, submitting a 5.21 ERA and serving up a whopping 18 home runs in 46.2 innings.
