Federowicz (knee) was initially scheduled to undergo surgery on his torn meniscus on Thursday, but the procedure has been rescheduled for Friday, Dennis Lin of the Union-Tribune reports. The timetable for Federowicz's return will be available after his surgery on Friday. In the meantime, Wil Nieves will be San Diego's backup catcher barring a trade.
