DeGrom allowed three earned runs on five hits while striking out 14 across seven innings in the loss to Atlanta on Thursday. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom allowed his first home run in his last seven starts in the first inning to Austin Riley. All three of his runs allowed were in the first inning. DeGrom has struck out at least 14 in four games this season. Despite allowing three earned runs for the first time this season, the future Hall of Famer is leading all of baseball with a 0.95 ERA and a 14.40 K/9. His next start is scheduled for Tuesday against the Brewers.
I gotta say dude, to say he is a future hall member is a big push, 33 years old and never has he won 20 games in a season. Never has he been in a World Series after leading his team to it. Gaudy strikeout numbers are nice but doesn't get u to the hall. His team is bad but there are hall members that have played for far worse teams. He is not a hall member, and should not be, he has won the Cy more than most but those were debatable and he does pitch in New York where they influence all of major league baseball with their pull. Finally and most important, the hitters he now is facing every 5 days are probably the most inept bunch to take the field as averages are all nearing Mendoza and strikeouts are rampant and being accepted as part of the process---wow!!!!!!!So slow down on the hall chatter and just let us enjoy his dominance when he does pitch.
