Padres manager Mike Shildt told 97.3 The Fan on Monday that Tatis (thigh) is at the Padres' training complex in Arizona and is ready to take live at-bats.
EDGE Analysis
Tatis has been on the injured list since late June but recently began ramping up his activity, including running at about 70 percent on the field last week. Facing live pitching will be another step in his progression toward a minor-league rehab assignment, which could be around the corner. If Tatis continues to move forward without any setbacks, a return to the Padres in the first half of September isn't out of the question.
